For my African American Male & Female Relationships class we were asked to read the article “To Be Black, Gifted and Alone” by Bebe Moore Campbell. Reading the title I thought it would be about the usual empowered black female scenario, you know the one I’m talking about right?
*African american accent* “I’m an independent black woman who won’t settle for a brother that makes less than me and with baby mama drama and as a result I’m still single, alone and bitter.”
Yes that one.
However, the article turned out to be less Tyler Perry movie and actually very sad.
